Audio Video Sync Problem

I have recently began to watch divx movies. My latest is Moulin Rouge. When I open the file in the divx player and just let it begin to play on its own, there are no problems at first, however, once I fastforward, pause, stop, or basically do anything with the player, the audio goes out of sync with the video.

I have adjusted the controls, including the playback quality, yet no positive result.

Someone please help me
