    Pixelated bright reds problem

    Hi,

I've encountered the same problem with many codecs (for example Sorenson 3, and FLV, and DV). The birght reds looks horrible, as they look like very pixelated. All the other colours and bright spots (like white) are totally ok and crisp.

Is there a way to over come this problem, or do I just have to accept the terrible quality in reds when I compress my videos to internet?

    Thanks,

Sounds like poor chroma upsampling. Try ffdshow to decode with RGB as the output and high quality conversion enabled.

Thank you for the reply. So you mean that it shows perfectly on FFDdshow, but theres no way to encode the video that it would play perfectly in a normal Flash player? Cuz I have to use FLV, since my site is made with Flash, and it can only play FLV files.

So you tried decoding via ffdshow?

It has to do with colourspaces. Sorenson Spark and VP62 both uses YV12. Nothing you can do about that. Not sure if the flash plugin converts to RGB or leaves it to the video card.
