Are there any audio-encoding utilities which can output to a specific file-size? There appear to be plenty of apps which will do audio+video (i.e., a movie) to certain sizes (e.g., 700mb), but one for audio specifically is proving elusive.
Compressing audio to specific sizes?

Those "which will do audio+video (i.e., a movie) to certain sizes (e.g., 700mb)" will also have the option of specifying the bitrate for audio(e.g. 128 kbps). So,if you want a certain size of audio, divide the size by length(of time) to get the target bitrate.sigpic

I have a 700mb film rip with crummy original-source audio, and an alternate high-quality audio source that I'd like to use instead, but which will require some compression. After yanking out the bad audio, there's enough space left for approx 104kbps CBR or a little more VBR, to round out the 700mb. Using 112kbps yields slightly too large a total file.Comment

You can burn files larger than 700MB btw... I've burned up to 703. So no need to freak out over a 702MB file, for example, but if it's like 705 or more that would be a reason to worryCYA Later:
