    Information Please

On my WIndows media Player, when I click on a movie to play, I very often get an error message which just says "Class not registered" When I attempt to get more information Windows just says "No more information available."

(Who but Windows would put out software which has issues even they do not know about/understand.)

I have the latest players, the latest DirectX, Java, and enough codecs to fill a five gallon oil drum.

I would appreciate any ideas any one out there has about this.

    Thank You,

    tps

More often than not, that message is indicative of a corrupt file...

But, just to be sure, do the following with one of these "problem" files:

    1) Load the file into VirtualDub

    2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

If you've got the DivX v.3.11alpha codec installed (which automatically installs the Radium MP3 codec as well), Windows Media Player should not generate an error UNLESS the file is corrupt...
