monitering while caming

i think the title says it all, does anyone know how to make a computer screen become a dv camcorder moniter while recording at the same time. with my old analoge it was easy but those days are gone... i think

Connect the cam to pc through firewire. Use any capture software( e.g.WinDV).Maximise the capture window and you will see what you capture real time.
