    virtual dub

I am trying to resize a DV file using virtual dub. The problem is when I try to save it using "save as AVI" the resulting file is probably 4 times bigger!
    What am I doing wrong?

You are NOT using a compressor. Hence the file is being saved as uncompressed avi.

That's got to be a "rite of passage" with VD. I think everyone makes that mistake when they first use it. I know I did.

Exactly. In fact I myself found VD to be not very intuitive when I first started using it. AVIDemux is better on that count. A very good place to start learning basic VD procedures is here:http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/vir...procedures.htm
