WMP and Divx 5.02

These two programs won't play a divx movie I have. for Divx 5.02 it plays but it stops at this one point in the movie and terminates, also it won't allow me to change the positioning of the movie.

For WMP it used to play divx movies but now when it tries to download the codec for it, it says it has errors on it and just plays the sound of the movie and not the screen.

Backwards compatibility of the various divx codecs is generally poor. To determine which codec your problematic media was encoded with, load the file into virtualdub and post the "file information." Also which version of WMP are you using, WMP 6.4 is recommend, 8 and possibly 7 may cause problems.
