asf and nero

is there any way to have nero fit oversized asf files?
i have a wm8 asf file that runs 704mb and nero states that it will make avi files fit. seeing that avi and asf are two different formats i'm scared to try.

When you are using overburn with NERO to burn a data CD (whether .AVI, .ASF, text, or any other data), NERO doesn't make any distinction regarding what the data is...

then i have absolutely no clue to get it to overburn.
i tried but it gives me the same errors of small disc size
i assumed that 704mb could overburn on a 700mb disc

what is a safe size to burn a 700mb cd without damage to cd and burner?
nero defaults to 82min would that fit 704?
and how often does it screw with the end of the file?
