Convert DivX-AVI files to MPG1

Hi people!
just a quick question,

what software shall I use to convert Hi compressed AVI or DIVX files back to MPEG1?
any urls???

Use 'AVI2VCD'
(That's available in the software section on www.divx-digest.com)
That will turn avi's of most formats into VCD format. Then Use 'Ulead Video Studio 4' to turn them into Mpeg 1's.

Is there anybody who made some conversion test from avi and mpeg2 to real media or windows media who can give me some information about the result?

.......because it's the only way to burn to VCD, that's why. But try different levels of VCD.

Use avi2mpg. It also comes w/ a decompress utility in the event the Audio is compressed, which it probably will be, then use TMPENC to split it up. The Avi2mpg utils are GUI based for you non Unix speaking people, so it's pretty handy.
Nero will do an auto conversion from avi to mpg as it burns (supposedly) but I always get out of memory errors when I try that. On a 1.5 gig system, that's a pretty lame bug. There also plenty of hacks for it on astalavista.com.

u talk shit why encode from good quality to bad, just re encode from the the best source, to have a divx file to vcd is nonsense get a grip guys why bother with such trivial games

at the end of the day mpeg 1 can only be played on pc aswell as divx !

if u want to convert to mpeg 1 vcd ,state it in your communication
