    Divx Freeze

I downloaded two movies from the Direct Connect P2p application on my P200 system. I burned both movies to two seperate cd's. However, when I play them back on my PIII 733 mhz laptop the movie plays flawlessly---except that it jams up occasionally for one minute at a particular part in each of the movies---meaning the audio continues however the video freezes. In one movie this "jamming" occurs 3 times, about one minute each, and then the film plays back normally. In the second movie, the "jamming" occured only once at a particular part.

This can be annoying, how may I resolve this issue? Thanks in advance

    Congratulations on your new laptop

Does this also happen if you playback from hd ?

And is it always in the same spot ?

Thanks for the congratulations KHP This laptop opens new doors to fun and learning. I've finally caught up with the digital video world

This jamming occurs at the "same" interval in both movies. Playing either of these movies from hd or cd seems to make no difference.

Do you think I could remedy this situation with divfix? Any other ideas? Thanks in advance I appreciate your prompt reply.

Trying to narrow down the problem ....

Try demuxing the audio from the avi file, and playback without audio.

Do you know which codec was used to encode the clips ?, which codec are you using for playback ?.

I will try that KHP. The movies are encoded with divx 3.11 alpha. I tried two other movies (Burned on the same cd brand and from direct connect and they worked fine).

Thanks for your time and advice KHP. I managed to resolve this issue with DivxAntifreeze.
