Cut few minutes and embed subtitles at the same time
Yes.Load the file in Virtualdub.Select Video/Full processing mode. Then Video/Filters.Add Textsub or Vobsub filter and load the subtitle file(ensuring that the timing matches the sequence of the part you wish to keep by previewing the filtered output).Next select Video/Compression and configure the codec. Then select the part you wish to keep and save as avi. There is no way you can hardcode the avi without reencoding.

Thanks.
When I try to do that I get "statsfile not found" and then "cannot start video compression: the operation is not supported(error code -1)".
You are trying to do a Two pass encoding without specifying the position to save the First Pass "statsfile". Either specify the path OR do a single pass encoding.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you're saying. Specify the path for the avi file to save?
edit: I just tried using DivX 5.2.1 codec and it works fine, but the problem is that the video that I saved has a very small audio delay.
edit 2: The part with the delayed audio was 3 minutes. When I tried shorter segements(around 30 sec.) there was no visible/audible delay.
edit 3: I just tried another video with the same results.
Are you compressing the audio or doing a Direct Stream Copy? What is the format of the original audio ? Better still, give the original file info using Mediainfo.

For the audio I use direct steam copy.
I also tried disabling the audio/video interleaving, but apparently there's still a delay.
