so i have f*cked my dvd firmware, what should i do now?

i have (had) a lite-on ltd122 and i was trying to make it multizone

i executed the flash update utility in pure dos mode (i think) and while in the proces of erasing the current firmware it stoped and said that there was an error trying to delete the current firmware, but it got to erase a bit of the firmware.

after that my pc wont even boot! i had to disconect the ide!

ok, so what should i do now? is there a way to fix the firmware? should i buy another dvd and make the lite-on an expensive paperweight?

    please help me!!!!!!!!!!

    this diserves a big

You have a better chance to solve your problem by asking for help at one of hardware forums.
      Try anandtech.com .

A corrupt firmware is very difficult (if not impossible) to fix. However, you'll have better luck searching google or specific dvd-hardware forums as Alexio suggested.
