Play mpeg1/2 ISO on my standalone DVD

I have a Mustek V520 and according to dvdrhelp it should be able to playback mpeg1/2 files, but when I burn a couple of them on a dvd it doesn't work.
Anyone who knows if I have to name the files in a special way or what? Maybe it will only work on a CD and not on a DVD?

    Thankful for help.

"Maybe it will only work on a CD and not on a DVD?"

Simply burn a CD-R and find out...

Did you burn as a data cd or crete a S/VCD?

To play back on a stand alone, create a VCD or SVCD using the templates (mode2)
Nero will have these for example.

If you just dragged/dropped the mpgs via explorer it will not work (mode1)
