Problem to load files in VirtualDub via Avisynth

    Hello,

I am trying to load an AVI file (obtained from "capture" with a miniDV camcorder) in VirtualDub through Avisynth.

I have copied the following characters in a file with Wordpad :

    DirectShowSource("c:\MAGIX\video_deLuxe_2004\My Record\Enregistrer2A.avi" ,fps=25)

Then I saved the file in :

    c:\MAGIX\video_deLuxe_2004\My Record\Enregistrer2A.avs

When I try to load this "avs" file in VirtualDub, I get the following error message :

    VirtualDub error
Avisynth open failure : syntax error
    (c:\MAGIX\video_deLuxe_2004\My Record\Enregistrer2A.avs, line1, line1, column 1)

I am using VirtualDub 1.5.10 and Avisynth 2.5.3

Does anyone know what is wrong ?

    Thank you in advance.

P.S. It is the first time I try to use Avisynth in VirtualDub, Then I do not know, for example, If it is necessayr to put a specific file in a VirtualDub folder, or something like that. The 2 softwares have been installed independantly from each other.

(Sorry for the English "quality", I am French).

        Doume,

Try removing the "fps=25" parameter and re-load the .avs file in Virtualdub.

        Regards.

I tried to remove the fps=25, but I get the same message.

          Thank you.

In that case, try replacing DirectShowSource with AVISource.

              Hello Enchanter,

I also tried to replace DirectShowSource with AVISource, but I got the same message.

Then, I tried to re-install Virtualdub (I had already reinstalled Avisynth).

After re-installing VirtualDub, I still had the same message.

In the "Open Video file" window of VirtualDub, I have the following options :

              - Automatically load linked segments : selected
              - Ask for Extended options after this dialog : NOT selected.

Is it the right choice ?

              Thank you in advance.

P.S. Up to now, I can read AVI files got from Mini DV capture directly in VirtualDub by means of the Panasonic DV codec.

Even if I understood from different forums that it is not the best DV codec, I will continue to work this way, as it works, and the Avisynth alternative does not work.

Finally, I found what was the problem.

When I was storing the file, I did not select any file format, and by defautl, it was storing in "RTF" format.

When I choose "text" format, it works.

                Thanks to all of you.
