.rar problems and .ro1 .ro2 ect. problems

ok I have a couple of different problems here and I hope some one can help, I have read almost all the post about .rar files and cant seem to get an answer. I have a folder with 42 .rar files that are all about 50m. I have run them through Winrar and it always gives me an .img file that I cant do anything with Im obviously misusing Winrar but cant figure out how to change it. I'd like to set it up in VOB or any usable video file. like .avi, mpg, ect.

I just keep adding problems to my problems, I now also have some .tar and ro1..ro2...ect... files that I can play on the PC with VLC Media Player but I cant figure out a way to put them on a DVD or VSCD( DVD preferred) any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. if this is the wrong forum for this let me know and I'll move the post to the correct one. (sorry I dont know the forums all that well yet)
