    'Disc not empty' message

    Hi,

I'm new to this board and I am also a novice at DVD burning. Please be patient.

I am attempting to burn a DVD movie (Goldeneye). I decrypted the DVD using DVD Shrink v3.2, and now have the file on my HD.

I then attempted to use Nero Express 6 to burn the movie on a DVD+R. Each time I tried, I get a messgae saying 'disc is not empty', and the drive ejects the disc.

I have tried it with DVD+Rs of two brands and got the same result.

The discs are blank. All that I have done is format them as the computer requested when I tried to open the discs.

Here is a copy of the error log from Nero:

        Slow down your burning.

Sounds as you have XP Service Pack 2 installed?

          Thanks Cynthia.

I slowed down the burning to 4x, and I ditched Nero for another program. Works fine.

            Well done garak!!!

Use DVD Decrypter to burn without fail.

            See http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?link=735

BTW: DVDs do not need formatting. This is probably what screwed up your first 2 burns (apart from the too high write speed).

            Regards
            Les

That's exactly what I did. Decrypter is tops!

Generating two coasters is an acceptable loss in my view, lol.

              Thanks again.
