Video clolors have all gone wrong.

This may be hard to explain properly.
Recently, The colors on any video clip, any type. avi. mpg.
in any Media Player I have on my computer. Windows media player 10, Power DVD and others. All apear wrong. like they are almost the oposite or negative of what they should be. I can play around with the color bar and other Video settings in windows media player to get it to look better. But it never looks right..
    Otherwise my moniter dsplays correctly.
I have picture and graphic editors and the color appears normal. I have some simple games, Mahjong, Sims and a few others and they appear normal
It is only when I play any type of video clip in any player.
And it is not just the clip. I have dozens and Dozens. And ones that use to play with the color perfect and brand new ones all look the same with the strange colors. I have not changed settings, Video Cards, Drivers, or done anything different on my Computer. I'm running WindowXP.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong??

looks like your video drivers overlay settings have been tinkered with-- if not, try a "system restore"
