    File produced was too large

For some reason, with the movie Apollo 13, Nero Recode always produces a 4500mb file size which is too large burn onto a DVD. I have it autoset to fit just the main movie onto a DVD-5 at an 89% compression ratio, but it will always produce a file size 41MB larger. In order to fix this problem I had to manually set the filesize to 4418MB so it would end compressing 41MB larger to 4459MB. I'm just curious if there's any reason why this happened. I turn on AEC and do a advanced analysis, as well (that may be the problem, I'm not sure). Has this happened to anyone else? It's just with Apollo 13.

EDIT: Oh yes, I also have done the registry change to make the AEC set to maxmimum sharpness; that may be one of the reasons as well?

Hi and welcome to the forum, thesamllelder!

Nero Recode 2 is tricky with the file sizes. Even trickier is it when you use the merge function. So there isn't much to do.

Why not give Dvd Shrink a shot at it?

Ah, good thing, I figured my computer was problem. I have tried DVD Shrink (used to use it only, but then discovered Nero Recode) and I love having just the main movie, no menus. I'm pretty sure I can't do that in DVD Shrink.
