    XBox Forum

I would ask Xbox as well as Microsoft at their site but their support section is a mess and it sends me all over the place. It's like going around a building to find the correct department and being pushed out the backdoor where the alley is while you drop your bag of shopping.

I'm trying to join the Xbox site. Everytime I go through the second stage to add my currant MSN address in, it's always denied. When I try to create a new one through the XBox site it's always denied. I'm always getting a problem with the e-mail part. The image shows an example.

You can see I entered an e-mail address correct and the red print keeps telling me I've made an error. I've tried creating a Hotmail address as well and the same happens. I know the UK bit is in capitals, it also fails with lowercase. At the moment when I try the Sign-in icon isn't there so I don't have a clue what is going on now. It's so annoying when I have to keep thinking of an e-mail address and it's also annoying when I have to keep typing my chosen password twice on each registration attempt as well as typing out those annoying image codes. I spent over an hour earlier and I got nowhere. I remember trying to join this site before and got problems.

I can't join through my XBox 360 because I keep getting an error about my IP address not matching. I installed the software in my PC and connected the lead hoping to run my XBox 360 through my PC connection.

    Many thanks.

    Darren.

I think the message in your screenshot indicates you have to use a non live/hotmail/msn email address to sign up, although I remember that I did sign up using my hotmail address. The only thing is that I setup my Windows Live ID before I got my Xbox account here:

I think this signup allows you to use your hotmail/msn address. Once you have established your Windows Live ID, you can then go and create the Xbox.com account and it should be easier (I can't check for now, since the Xbox Live website seems to be down).

As for signing up through the Xbox 360, do you get the IP address problem when running the connection test or when you try to sign up to Live?

If your connection is okay, you might need to check your geography/country setting in the Xbox 360 setup and set it to your correct country.

I've moved this thread to the Xbox 360 forum.

I managed to get my account up and running. Many thanks.

I think I know why I'm having problems with XBox Live, I realised I need an XBox Live card. I don't know why that slipped my mind. I feel like a fool. I feel as foolish as somebody that's trying to drive a car and remembering I forgot to put the engine back in after a major repair job.
