just got my laptop 4 days ago.i installed nero and dvd shrink, img tool and dvd decrypter. evrything works well. i can back it up and everything. when i try to put it on dvd with whatever (rioxio or nero 7) it bruns fine and then it errors when it writes or it will finish and i op it into the dvd player and it says please insert a playable disc. help please. ive gone through 15 dvd-r by now and have nothing to show

Please see rule 19. We can't talk about DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter any more.

However, you question is about burning. Read and implement the Golden Rules of Burning. Especially, trade up to better media.

after i burn the video ts file at 2x speed using nero recode it only plays on my laptop not my dvd player

that would indicate your dvd player and the burn are not very good

test on another dvd player(a newer one) and post a burn log

have recode save the files to your hard drive and then burn manually with nero, it's log's are much better, recode isn't as good for analyzing initial burn problems

Have you only used DVD-R media? Could be that your DVD Player won't read -R media. Try DVD+R and for best results bitset to DVD-ROM.

my bad. im new and want to get my burn on and stop wasting discs. Should i burn at 2x or 1x. Should i use "the program not talked about" and shrink it. then use nero to burn it at x2, will nero burn at low speeds. Or should i use roxio easy creator. I use dvd-r's

my player can read dvd-r's. is the quailty that important. i use computeressentials from walgreens. i just bout a pack that i can use to test. i dont want to spen a lot of money to be throwing these idcs away. wheni figure out the problem then ill get better discs...what yall think?
