    .Wmv to dvd

I have .wmv film which I analyzed with gspot:

    .WMV file
    1 GByte
    640x480
    Frame rate: 30
    Aspect ratio: 4:3

I'm thinking to convert it into mpge2 to play on any home dvd player,
    but:

can I use directly Tmpgenc DVD author 3.0.8 to build my dvd or
before I have to use tmpgenc plus to convert it into mpeg2 and after tmpgenc dvd author ?

I can see tmpgec DVD author permits to create new project using a .wmv file.
What's difference if before I convert it by tmpgenc plus ?

Probably nothing. But I personally prefer to first make DVD compliant MPEG2 files with TMPGEnc Plus. And may be a few more options available that way. In any case, I think TDA will still use the TMPGEnc encoder.
