Disney Reveals Hackers May Have Stolen Unreleased Film

Following the high profile theft and release of a Netflix series, Disney has revealed that hackers claims to have stolen an unreleased Disney film and has sent ransom demands.

During a town hall meeting with ABC employees in New York City, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that hackers claims to have gotten hold of an unnamed Disney movie and has threatened to release the film if payment demands, in BitCoins, are not met.

Iger revealed that Disney has decided not to meet these demands, which may lead to the premature release of the film in question.

Disney's release slate for the rest of 2017 includes 'Cars 3', 'Thor: Ragnarok' and 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'. A rumor last week suggested that the latest Star Wars film had been stolen, but the rumor has since been confirmed as a hoax.

This latest episode follows the theft and release of new episodes of the Netflix series 'Orange is the New Black'. Netflix also refused the demands of the hacker responsible. At the current time, it isn't immediately clear whether these two hacking incidents are related.
