Is your g drive the dvd in your read drive or a hard disk.
The g drive is my virtual rom drive that has the image of the DVD.

Here is a screenshot of the actual DVD in my physical drive.

I'll read up on that guide you suggested and do some more testing.

One odd thing is when I select the video ts for the menu TW shows the menu as 0.00mb.See Attachment

Now thats the oddest menu I have ever seen - Its all in the Video_ts folder.

There is no menu vob for the VTS_01_??(your movie) (every dvd I've studied has chapter menu, etc for a titleset is in the associated titleset VTS_??_0.vob/ifo
      Your movie was in VTS_01.??.vobs
VTS_01_0.vob (You don't have it -- this is why TW goes Duh)

Don't bother trying to use TW to readd this menu --its not even close to any standard menu authoring practices.

Did you actually have chapter selection on the orig DVD.???

And just for my own info could you Zip up the (Original) VIDEO_TS.IFO and the VTS_01_0.ifo.
I'd like to see the navigation commands

Crap the first menu you try to readd and you hit this -- Oh Well Murphys Law

raddad Okay thanx for the ifo's
First menu I've ever seen like that (Out of about 1000 Dvd's). All is now clear I see how they did it -- Why they would want to create a menu in that fashion escapes me. And TW will seriously dork when it hits a menu constructed like that.

Fast and Dirty to get out of it -- If you just want a quickie menu for chapter selection -- In TW --Just Undo and use the menutemplate Menu1Titleset. I Know that will work. Otherwise TW can't add a menu.

PgcEdit might be able to readd that original menu.

            Ok thanks for helping.
Now what's this about version 2.5.........
Will this help with this disc??

BTW, : PgcEdit and the guide for it are way over my head

Yes PgcEdit is versatile but not a One click/No Brainer method like TW.

In order for 1 click menu addition to work - I had to make assumptions during design to cover the majority of commercial dvd's out there.

And no 2.5 won't help with this disk the internal navigation is just to funky - Its (almost) fundamental in Tw that chapter, setup, audio, play etc control is local to the titlesets.

99.9??% of the time the Vmg (Video_ts menu) is used for navigation between titlesets. Local internal navigation is contained in the Vts_0?.0.ifo and vob menu files.

2.02 is about 95% to 97% effective in 1 clk readding of original menu.

Tw 2.5 contains a fix for the 3 to 5% that are balky to simplify original menu navigation to resemble the navigation (style) used in the menutemplates (which always work after adding).
Essentially all menu button commands directly execute their target locations/actions. bypassing GPrm and Pgc post menu navigation.
2.5 will also cover the multiple movie with orig menu's on the same disk situation.
2.5's GUI will have to change quite a bit to make this work.

I thought that this fix would bring TW's 1 click readd orig menu viability to 100% before I saw your disk. Seems I was wrong -- well 99.9????% is something to shoot for.

The only solution for your disk using TW is to add a menu from the menutemplate folder. (The templates buttons sort of resemble an extension of the remote control - not pretty but quick, done and )

                TitleWriter creates unplayable discs

Hi FA, I'm back. My TW is still "broken."

Here are the good/unalteredfiles and bad/altered files from a 3 part series on the Appalachians. The good files are straight out of Ulead's DVD Workshop 2. The bad files have had their menu button transitions corrected with Menu Edit, and a title of "Appalachains" was added with TW2.001Beta.exe.

What's going on here? Why am I getting unplayable discs?

Undo Changes. Check the good video_ts.ifo in IfoEdit ->> GetVtsSectors -- The Last Sector of VMGI is wrong in your Good Video_ts.ifo, VMGM_MAT table (offset 1C) file its 10 and should be 16.
This good Video_ts.ifo is badly non compliant -- This would screw TW up major.

Oops sorry Value at 1C should be 15

More Bad stuff in your good ifo file the actual meat of the file is 22528 Kb (11 sectors) long (from the tables) its been padded up to 32 k and associated pointers are not updated to reflect padding.

                      - offtopic -

@mrlimpet, I loved "The Incredible Mr. Limpet"! That and "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" were 2 of my favorite childhood films. Now I'll need to see if I can find them on DVD.

Ladyfish: I don't care how terrible your past was, Limpet.
@FallenAngel, I keep meaning to check out TitleWriter but haven't had a specific need for it yet, appreciate all the work you've put into it!

Mr limpet. Okay try this -

                        Maybe Fix 1.
Boot TW - Undo changes. Close TW
Boot IfoEdit -- Open the compiliation ULEAD Video_ts.ifo file->> hit GetVts sectors (and save the bup).
Watch it carefully and see if windows pops open telling you that its modifying things. Then Titlewrite.
test the compiliation on a RW (I'm not sure it will work -- there may be other things wrong that I haven't spotted)- If it works write a nasty note to Ulead telling them to fix their !@%%! sectors when padding the ifo's to fixed boundaries.

                        ??? Fix 2.
Remove TW from you sys and re download (Perhaps TW is getting corrupted somehow But I don't think this is the prob)

                        Fix 3.
Either that or just drop ULEAD and use shrink/recode and readd a menu in TW.

Possible Fix 4. try the TW attachment below (it contains a ??fix -- but it doesn't fix the compliancy issue) just use the DVD Text area not the menu add features and see if it works. After TW'ing the Video_ts.ifo filesize should be 2kb bigger then pre TW.

                        and just for my info.
During TW if you could hit the play button etc. and see if anything comes up (DirectX current installed) and report back

PS Either way TW 2.001Beta was a beta you should get the current ver. 2.002

Just looked at your files from awhile back -- Same compliancy issue there

Is v2.002 standalone or do I put it with all the supporting *.txt files
                          from previous versions?

I asume you are talking about the attachment. Anyplace all ver are standalone . The rest of the files are your settings, menutemplates and the helper programs etc. Really the only required file Titlewriter.ini will be created on first boot as an empty dummy.

Can you download any other file from anywhere else. Sounds like a Internet Security Settings problem, or firewall/antivirus related.
