DVD menu appears too large

Hey Everybody,
I'm using TMPGEnc Author 3 (3.1.2.176) to create menus and dvds. The simulation shows it (i.e., the menus and video) appearing within the confines of my monitor. However, when it is played on an actual dvd player, it cuts off about a half an inch from every side. How can I fix this without going through too many dvds?

I can post my settings that I am using in my template files, but not sure what information to post.

I haven't used TMPGEnc author program(just the old TMPGEnc Plus) but most menu makers use either an NTSC image or a PAL image for the menu background. NTSC is the standard North American TV resolution while PAL is larger. If the menu is getting chopped see if you can find any option for the background image. It may be using a PAL image.

TMPG appears to fall short as far as NTSC and PAL settings go, but there are these settings for the menu and clip respectively, the settings as seen in the pics are as I have them currently - how do they look?

I'm not familiar with the program but if it does motion menus I'd look there. I hate motion menus so I'm not the one to look for to help. To me, it's just yet another thing to make me wait before I get control of my TV again.

I don't use Menus neither ... less fuss ...

But why even mess with NTSC or PAL ... and your framerates ... most, if not all dvd-players nowadays play PAL & NTSC ...

I am suspecting your cross format conversion ... it may be changing your Video SIZE and your default Menu maybe is set for a Specific Size window.

The video size is the issue - you need to set it to a standard DVD

720 x 576 for PAL
720 x 480 for NTSC

Try to set the clip settings/aspect ratio to display 4:3
