What exactly does DGIndex do when you pick where the credits begin rolling? Does it change the framrate from forced film to normal? Does it somehow change the compression?

Are you talking about using DGIndex to demux the streams? It doesn't do anything to the original file at all, it only creates an index or project file (.d2v) that is used for processing with Avisynth.
