Custom titles may not be updated through the forum immediately, I think it's updated every 25 minutes or something and cached during this time.

Mmmm, just tried the "Top" function again here and it just went to top and then fell back to the bottom - it doesn't always do it however.......

Did the page load completely, because if there was already an anchor in the URL and you click on the "Top" link before the page loads, when the page loads completely, it will go back to the original anchor.

Well I wasn't sure so this time I let the page (here) load completely and then clicked Top - it went to the top but came back to the bottom again ! Yet on other threads it appears to work fine. I will see if it works ok after this reply has been posted

Nope even allowing a minute for page to fully load the Top Link isn't working for me

Its not massively important but you did ask for glitches

I think the verdict is that lfcrule1972 is a pedantic bast and should have just let it lie....

Which browser are you using, lfcrule1972? I tried it many times on this thread in both IE and Firefox, but I couldn't replicate the problem.

IE 6 mate - sorry to be a pain - it could be due to the work pc so will try from home tonight

I only get this when the page doesn't completely load (the little Windows logo in the top right hasn't stopped moving). Does the "Top" link on the bottom of the page react the same way?

Also, when you click on the link, does the page reload itself, or is it just a quick jump to the top and then back?

You can also try loading this page using this URL:

And then try the top link again. I think it won't do the jump back. If you use the link below, it might do the jump back because it links to a specific post in the thread, rather than the thread itself:

I seem to remember something like that now. I've implemented something similar, but it's not exactly the same.

Works a treat though. It's exactly what I had in mind. Thanks, mate.
