Could it be that simple?

Could it really be as easy as right clicking on blocked & deleting it?

don't see how it would hurt, course that would be only for the one in nero tools

It just couldn't be that easy, the setting keeps popping back in to regedit (blocked Samsung & Plextor). I don't think I should go any deeper, maybe one day the LiteOn will show up.

To enable the samsung drive to do scans with cd-dvd speed it should be sufficient to remove "samsung" from that reg key

Hope you stick around geno & I guess I better explain how it is done for those who want to give it a shot. Start / run / regedit / HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / ahead / Nero Toolkit / CD Speed / CD Quality / value will be blocked on the right hand side / right click on blocked / modify / remove.
