    Any advice?

I also note that DivX doesn't work anymore in AutoGK, but it did last time I ran AutoGK and I didn't touch anything after that

OK I could do that, but once the trial expires it will likely bug the heck outta me.

Is there a third-party removal app like spyware has?

Well, if I use system restore, wouldn't that remove the codec as well?
            I did install dscaler however.

                Hi,

So has anybody figured out how to uninstall windvd 7. I still can't figure out why when I use the add/remove function in control panel it just helps me reinstall it!!! I don't know if its just me, but I've tried doing it a couple of times and it just reinstalls windvd 7. So if somebody has figured out how to fix this problem, let me know cause I kind of want to get rid of windvd 7 on my computer.

This is how I got rid of it on one of my PCs after using the trial version. Under My Computer, do a search (including hidden files and folders) for 'WinDVD' and purge all instances of it manually. Then look in program files and Add/Remove program to see if there are leftover traces (not sure if WinDVD left empty traces, but some progs do), they should now just be empty if they're still there, but should be able to remove them.
                  Hope that helps.

I actually have the full registered version. Why would they make it so you can't uninstall it? Or is mine just messed up?

In response to the previous post, aren't there files and folders not named 'WinDVD'? (i.e. MsXML) How would that get rid of all the files relating to WinDVD when you do a search like that?

intervideo messed up really bad on this one, what a shame

to uninstall windvd, download the trial version from intervideo's site and then extract the files from windvd7.exe with winrar

go to start ---> run and type the directory where you extracted the files and specifically the setup.exe, along with the option "removeall"

                      for instance C:\Windvd\Setup.exe removeall

by this way of extracting the files from windvd7.exe you can also install windvd without the crap 3rd party apps and some other annoying stuff that may crash it at the end of installation that come with it - just delete the 3rdparty folder and run setup.exe for installation
