seems amd had drastically dropped their dual core higher end cpu's in price
(again)
let's start with this model am2 amd64x2 cpu running at 2.6Ghz stock
the 2 megs of L2 are nice but not really needed with the onboard memory controller amd uses but it's only 4$ more(what the heck)
now what quality motherboard will give the most bang for the buck?
then finding a couple of gigs of premium ram at a good price
overclockers option

let's go for last month's customer choice award for a motherboard
NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP supports:
6 x Serial ATA 3.0Gb/s
JMicron JMB363 SATA controller supports:
1 x Internal Serial ATA 3.0Gb/s
1 x External Serial ATA 3.0Gb/s port
finally e-sata onboard
