Wal-Mart puts "cheap" Chinese HD DVD player on sale

The much-talked-about low-cost HD DVD player from Venturer Electronics is now available, though its $199 price tag is not as attractive as it was a couple months ago.

I was in my local Wally World today and they still had some of the Toshiba A2's left for $149, still a better deal than the 'el-cheapo' Chinese model.

The Venturer seems to be a Toshiba HD-A3 with a different case, both made in China. So you might say that the cheap Chinese player everybody has been waiting for has already been released by Toshiba. It's the more top of the line models that people are still waiting (like the Onkyo, which is only available in very limited supplies and most of which have been sold I think).
