    Xbox 360 Spring Update Rumors

One of the rumours is "Support for titles to store installation data on Storage Device for faster loading." ... that would definitely help out performance of titles such as GTA IV. It would also drive sales of the 120 GB drive, but only if it gets a price drop.

It's obvious what this one is for

Calibration options for motion sensor devices.
    For the Wii like controller
"Support for titles to store installation data on Storage Device for faster loading."
Didn't they do this with the first Xbox console ? If so, why wouldn't they continue to do that with their 360's launch console ?

I'm not sure if it is possible or not, but I don't think any titles use it. The Xbox had a built-in HDD, whereas on the 360, the HDD is optional, so that's probably why most developers don't use this option anymore.

I suspect the new updated SKU, dubbed the "Xbox 540" to be released in August with the Jasper GPU will probably come with the 120 GB drive by default ... 20 GB is a bit silly these days, considering even USB memory sticks are 8 GBs in size, and how cheap 2.5" USB external HDDs are these days.
