WARNING! NVIDIA Driver is killing Video Cards

Recent Nvidia driver update version 196.75, is being reported that the drivers which were released on March 2nd, and have now been removed from the Nvidia download site. They are recommending down grading to 196.21. Some reports from ZDnet have also reported that systemboards have also overheated and died. So the time being I would not upgrade tour Nvidia video card until there is proof that driver will not destroy your video card.

From what I've read it was when you used 3D stuff. I still have that version installed and I'm not a gamer and I need an excuse to get a new card so let it burn.

That's what I call throwing caution to the wind.

The reason I know this is my sons' Alienware computer bit the big one. The motherboard also died while he was playing WOW. I am waiting on Nvidia response to an email that I sent to them telling them that I want compensation. So far I have had no response.

Me too and lucky because lately I've been upgrading to newer versions w/out thinking about waiting until they prove worthy or blow up.

I better stick to what's still working b4 going to what might not. If it ain't broke...
