I don't know how all this is done, but would it be possible to animate my av, to make it look like tux is surfing; maybe make the wave animate, something like that
Are you looking for something like this? Very crude, and needs much fine tuning, though.

        paglamon,

Yeah, that's kind of like what I had in mind; that's better than anything I was able to do with GIMP! What can I use to manipulate the image like that?

Oh, & how much brainpower is required? I'm running a little short on that right now...

I can tell u what I did. Downloaded an animated GIF of ocean waves(lots of free stuff all over the place).Opened it in Adobe Imageready. Edited every frame in Adobe Photoshop so that I cud place the linux image on each frame. Then just adjusted the opacity of the layers.Saved each frame separately. Then made a new animated GIF with these authored frames.

GIMP can do that and then some I suggest you look up some path tuts and then study up on GAP (GIMP Animation Package). It also wouldn't hurt to study tuts on animation with out GAP Hope this helps

Always keep in mind that it's all about layers either with GIMP or Photoshop

I feel exactly the same way about cake, especially chocolate. Gotta be lots of layers.
