    USB 3.0 soon?

    Just wondering if anyone has prognostication when USB 3.0 will be in your basic PC desktops? All I've seen on the web so far is 2010 sometime.

    yes thats 2010, but more on hardware that runs on usb 3 rather then the motherboards / systems that support usb3 hardware.

    means as early u get usb 3 hardware in the market the more quickly ull see it on systems.
    Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

        Time again to buy new cables.

        Wonder how many times we have done that, due to new standards.

              I picked up a new Netgear wireless router/DSL modem. It said that it will be usb compatible with future firmware updates. I think that it was referring to wireless usb. Since there is no usb ports on the router so I can only guess that it is what it is referring to was the wireless usb.

                * USB 1, 2, 3
                * Wireless USB
                * Wireless HDMI
                * HDMI 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3a, 1.4 Standard, 1.4 High Speed, 1,4 Standard with Ethernet, 1.4 * High Speed with Ethernet, 1.4 Automotive
                * DisplayPort

                These are the possible connections/ports that a PC of tomorrow might be required to support (not to mention the "legacy" ones such as plain old Ethernet and VGA/DVI)!
