Syncing the clock in Windows 7 x64

Any of you guys been able to sync the clock in Windows 7 x64 w/out a 3rd party software utility? Let me know because I keep on manually having to reset the clock to it's correct time. I've tried to go into clock settings and using one of the time servers online but to no avail.

Yes I did search the web and all that popped up mainly was 3rd party apps.. Not much info on using any of 7's features that I found. Thnx.
    SAMSUNG SH-S203B, SAMSUNG SH-S223F,

Take the suggestions and follow the directions. The results will speak for themselves.

Is Windows Time enabled in Services?
It should be set to automatic start.

I don't have Seven 64 bit but it works for me in Vista64.

It is now! That's why we join these Forums so the Big Boys can come to the rescue on the most trivial of things! Thnx Miles I'll go set it up now and then take it from there. Post back w/the results.

Is the web getting ridiculously petty w/searches? I hit 3 search engines for this and then said thwi let me post!

It's working now. I synced it w/time.nist.gov.. Figured the gov't just maybe might have the correct time at least.

I think I use the default time server. For my wrist watch I just google "atomic time" and this map of the US comes up. I click my time zone. When you refresh the page you get the exact time. I set my watch about 30 seconds fast since it loses maybe a second and a fraction a day. That way I only have to check it every 4 or 5 weeks. It's great how these cheap watches have quartz crystal engines. Usually what happens to me is the wrist band breaks. I don't think I've ever replaced a battery. I'm about 5 grand short of a Rolex so I'll get by with Timex. It tells the time. That's all I need.

Default must be tiime.com but it has to be set I think.

Just curious but does it have a battery, or this quartz crystal engine runs on something else? Lol... Things we get into here for Pete's sake. I love this place. I'm lmao right now.

The CMOS battery that also keeps track of you hardware devices is also for the clock too.

I was just talking about my cheapie Timex wrist watch. Back in the old days you had to buy an expensive watch to get one with a quartz crystal. Now everything but wind up mechanical is quartz. The electronics are so cheap now.

The batteries are usually Lithium. The watch band breaks and the thing keeps time in a drawer for another 5 years!!

I have a Casio Wavecepter, it is atomic watch. It also has a rechargable battery, which is recharged by the sun.

I was looking at those automatic time set. Seems I could never find a model that had what I wanted. But for the rechargeable aspect, do you wear short sleeve shirts or do you have to stick it under a lamp a couple hours a night?

I wear mostly short sleeve shirts. Once you get it fully charged then the ambient light will keep it charged. There is also a power saving mode which will keep it going for close to a year when put into a drawer.

Cool. I didn't think they'd be that efficient. Guess it's not a gimmick type thing anymore.
