I was pleasantly surprised, after crafting last Thursday's "get 'em now, while the deals are hot and inventory's still available" HD DVD-themed post, to see Slashdot echo my observations two days later. Surprisingly to some, but not to me, HD DVD equipment and content sales are quite healthy on Ebay and elsewhere, in spite of the format's looming obsolescence, because plummeting prices have effectively negated the 'early adopter tax' traditionally found with nascent technologies.
