Another day, another lawsuit. This time, MCS Music America is suing Microsoft, Real Networks and Yahoo over copyright infringement in relation to the users of these sites being able to purchase and download songs that MCS owns. Either these companies failed to pay for licensing, or MCS are unhappy with the deals these companies made with record labels and other studios.
Lawsuits are becoming part of the business model for companies these days - with the copyright laws in such a mess, anyone can sue almost anyone else to make a quick buck, and the recent judgement of 1.92m against the person who shared 24 songs will only make the lawyers even more excited.
The three companies in question have not made any statements.
