DigiTimes has reported that Sony have ordered more parts than expected in recent orders, parts used in the production of the PS3. So much so that the demand is outstripping supply at the moment.
This could signal the release of the PS3 Slim, Sony has announced that it will give a press conference in August to announce *something*, and could also signal Sony's confidence in the demand for the PS3 Slim. With these updates, there will always be a core set of users that will upgrade without hesitation, even if it means having two PS3s at home. Or it could mean that the PS3 Slim does come with a price cut, which will mean increased demand.
Or it could mean nothing.
