The Toshiba BDX2000 is Toshiba's first Blu-ray player, after admitting defeat in the HD format war over 18 months ago.
The player itself is a BD-Live capable player, with 1080p/24 output, DivX/AVCHD playback, SD card slot for JPEG/MP3/WMA/AVCHD playback. It does not play HD DVD discs, which Toshiba has specificially stated in their press release.
No specific details were released about the DVD upscaling capabilities the Toshiba HD DVD players were renowned for, nor any details on whether the player will use Cell technology for super quick loading and picture enhancements.
The player will be available in November for just under $250.
