Toshiba has unveiled a new TV that uses the same processor as the PlayStation 3, using the Cell processor that is 150 times more powerful than any other TV on the market. By using the available power, the TV is able to record high definition content from 8 channels simultaneously, allowing the viewer to catch up any programs missed in the last 26 hours.
The viewer is also able to view 8 channels at once on the screen (just like in "Back to the Future II"!), all made possible thanks to the powerful Cell processor, the design and manufacturing capacity Toshiba obtained from Sony last year.
Other features include Internet/YouTube support, and the ability to upscale YouTube video to higher resolutions using the Cell's power.
The TV is priced at ¥1 million, or $USD 11,225 with current exchange rates ($AUD 12,805).
