NVIDIA has released the 256 family of drivers which add many improvements, including 3D Blu-ray acceleration support. Not a lot of details have been released, mainly because 3D Blu-ray movies are not yet available, and that a compatible 3D Blu-ray player software is not yet readily available.
3D Blu-ray uses almost double the bitrate of normal Blu-ray movies, and while not requiring twice the CPU power due to encoding optimizations, more power is required and so 3D Blu-ray acceleration is key to ensure Blu-ray performance on PCs remains at an acceptable level without overtaxing the CPU.
