I pay every bill online, I haven't written but about 40 checks in over 2 years. The only reason I write those are because my stupid mortgage company wants to charge you to pay online, which I will not pay a fee to do ( unless it was cheaper than the stamp).

I love online pay because I can sit down and pay all my bills for the whole month at one time, and have them paid on whichever day I decide, then I don't have to worry about whether the check will get there in time or not.

None of the places I know of will process a payment any quicker than two days, unless you pay a fee of like $15.00 for quick payment. Now if you schedule the payment at least two days later than you are are making the request, it is free and gets credited the day you schedule it for.

I pay like burrell84601 does. I, first, register each bill at my bank (this is a one time thing), and then I can select a bill for payment either from a list at an ATM or online through my bank's website.

      Later.

Just to clarify my statement, some companies will accept electronic payments but some won't. In that case, the bank sends them a paper check and it takes the same amount of time to get there than if you sent it from home. I still have about 5 companies I deal with that won't accept electronic payments.

BofA is good about telling you which ones are which. I don't know about Wells Fargo as I just switched banks when I moved. I have been too busy with getting the kids settled and probate to get everything inputted ...

Tying up or posting a satisfying result. Finally took a try w/my bank paying my bills online. Like it and will stay w/it. Can even send someone a check through there also. That's great too. Matter of fact I do think it's kinda safer than maybe losing your checkbook and it falling into the wrong hands. Thnx for all the examples and suggestions.
