Had no luck with replies in the software section of this board so Im reposting here and crossing my fingers...
I am trying to encode some mpg clips from a fully licensed DVD using TmpgEnc, and im having some problems getting the filesize of the clips to where I want it. I ripped the DVD using DVD decryptor, and then I used DVD2AVI to get a .d2v and a .wav file (frame served it). I then load the two parts into TmpgEnc, choose the clip I want to encode using the source range function, and then i load the unlock.mcf file so I can manipulate the screen size, bitrate, etc. The problem is, no matter how much I decrease the bitrate, it does not affect the end result of the filesize at all. Its very frustrating...the quality of the clip is noticably reduced, but with no affect on the size of the file. Has anyone experienced this before with this program? If so, can you offer any advice...any and all help is appreciated.
