Hello,
I am having some major problems with encoding NTSC 29.97 fps movies lately.
The problem I get after encoding is jumpy video playback and after reading several topics about this it seemed that these movies were badly telecined. Older NTSC movies which also run at 29.97 fps could just be de-interlaced and I had smooth playback.
I rip these "badly telecined" movies with DVD decrypter and they play SMOOTHLY on my harddisk. Then I use DVD2AVI to make a d2v file, video information is shown as 29.97 fps, NTSC, interlaced. So I do not need to select Force Film, but need to inverse telecine later on in GordianKnot. After having done that and finished with the encoding I STILL have jumpy playback.
So what have I done wrong, is it sometimes impossible to get smooth playback with NTSC movies?
Thanks
