.bmp is used when BMP files are used instead of text -- tw looks for the translated files in menufiles folder ie "PlayAll.bmp" is not recognized when japanese.txt is selected
(you would have to create a Japanese "translated(PlayAll).translated(.BMP)
I confirmed about it. But the fact seems to be different.
Even when japanese.txt is selected, I can use japanse bitmap.
    I don't have to create a Japanese "translated(PlayAll).translated(.BMP).
Further more, even when deleted(blank) "Bmp,.BMP" in txt, I can use bitmap button without problem.
(I'm not sure but I remember several previous testbed need to rename file name of bitmap.)

    Regards.

Gonwk I suggest waiting until a release -- this translation bit is a work in progress.

Jinjin_jp you scared me for a second -- I thought TW was lopping off the first characters

I am not basing my code on any single program -- I started from scratch.

    Tetsuro_ja -- ABC vs BCA
I thought I was being "smart" parsing by word (DUMB MONKEY)
(Also reducing translated strings since many words repeat within different strings)
Damn this means a step back -- For sanity's sake I'll have to add all possible language extended info as strings (and delete the entries for words in strings)
    from the files.
If it is hard to display the whole info, it may be better that strings are translated to abbreviated strings. For example, "for visual impaired" to "I", "director comment" to "D", "alt director comment" to "A".
Not sure abbreviating to that point is smart (most users won't know what the abbreviations mean)
So Alternate Directors Comments to Alt Dir Com "sings" better than A

I'll Update the english, japanese files to code original strings (entries left of Comma)
(This will butcher your translations in those areas to date)

Send the modified japanese file back to you >> And wait for the corrected file before releasing another testbed.

So, may I understand as "Unkown", "Alt", "Title", "Children"(1 of 2), and "Large"(1 of 2) in strings txt are not used?
    I found "Unkown" is used.
It is strange. When editting language of streams by IfoEdit, there is 2 of "Not specified".
When selecting one(upper) of "Not specified", TW's output shows "Unspecified".
When selecting another(lower) of "Not specified", TW's output shows "Unknown".
Both is shown as "Not specified" in IfoEdit, but certain value(dec) seems to be different. One is "0 0", another is "32 32".

And I know this time there are language and language type.
Even if editing(deleting) language by PgcEdit, it changes language type but not changes language type.
The feature of TW's output is different audio and subpicture. Which is the intention of TW?
Audio is not change, whether language type is "not specifiec" or not. Audio is decided by only language.
But subpicture becomes to "unspecified", when language type is "unspecified" even if language is English or etc.
(But I don't know what case is actually existed or not.)

    Regards.

    Interesting...
    I tried it.
Even if language code is cleared by PgcEdit, only language type bit is cleared while language code is not changed.

I want you to add the extended info to audio streams if possible.
The extended info is very useful.

As to the extended info added to subtitle streams --
Some string for the extended info is currently split to words in English.txt.
Although this method is smart, it is not good for Japanese because word order must be sometimes changed. For example, an English string "A B C" (A, B and C are words) is sometimes equivalent to a Japanese string "CBA" (no space between Japanese words).
I want you not to split strings if possible.

Sorry, I can't understand well. It's first time to face with stream's info such many kinds.
Now I'm understanding little by little.

May I understand the current feature like below?
(*the first of word is lacking because I edited in the purpose of confirming whether reflected or not.)

So, may I understand as "Unkown", "Alt", "Title", "Children"(1 of 2), and "Large"(1 of 2) in strings txt are not used?

    I understood about "Childrens".
    I'm studying about "BMP"

    1)Audio/language:
Even if change to blank, output show language which is before change. I t seems to memory anywhere. I may not be by TW.
My editing was wrong. I couldn't edit correctly by PgcEdit. Now I can edit by IfoEdit.

-- Its a good thing the Text reducer is working -- It looks like almost every string is being compressed.
I was thinking about adding the extended info to audio streams --now I'll have to think about it harder
(It looks like some of theaudio streams are also being compressed without that info.

    4)Subpic/language:
When change to blank, output show "unspecified". But it is not reflected "unspecified" in string file, even if edited.
    It becomes to be reflected.

    And Uploaded 6_22_2

Of course "unspecified" isn't being translated in 6_22 --
The monkey never called the translator routine.

The menulanguage folder contains all files as of 6_22. I have made no changes at my end

I'm assuming the extended descriptions for subtitles showed up properly ---
Though given the above oversight I'm sure I shouldn't

    Edited:
    Jinjin_jp

    oh My so Many questions
    Okay -- starting easy --
Re 1 -- At this point I'm not adding Extended info to audio (I've got a feeling that screen may get cluttered)

Re Duplicated Large an Children noted --Me Bad

Re 8 Title is used when TW first creates a Dummy DVDTEXT segment for a compiliation that doesn't have one
Ie Say a compiliation fresh out of 'Squish" that is first opened by TW.exe from these testbeds

As to Children Captions vs Childrens Captions -- Technically my "english" is better --
Its not that PGCEDIT is wrong -- He just uses fewer strings and has a lot more room to play with on the computer screen

heres the code snippet relating to the subtitle language extensions
As you can see you need all the words currently in language file to translate each word (The "" are entries I Don't have info for)

{"", "Normal", "Large", "Children","", "Normal Captions", "Large Captions", "Childrens Captions",
"", "Forced", "", "","", "Dir. Com", "Large Dir. Com", "Dir. Com for Children"

Visually impaired is in another part of the stream info, as is Alt. (CodeExtensions -- Currently not adding)

Unknown is used internally in TW's phrase parser as a "flag" that word translator request failed/not found it tells me not to stomp on the old word with the "translated" return
(it really doesn't need to be translated -- but it doesn't matter if it is)

.bmp is used when BMP files are used instead of text -- tw looks for the translated files in menufiles folder ie "PlayAll.bmp" is not recognized when japanese.txt is selected
(you would have to create a Japanese "translated(PlayAll).translated(.BMP)

This allows the user to create TW resource files in their own language

I tested with using English strings. I noticed several points.

(I tested by confirming and editing by PgcEdit.)

    1)Audio/language:
Even if change to blank, output show language which is before change. I t seems to memory anywhere. I may not be by TW.
2)Audio/(unspecified, Normal, for visual impaired, Dir.Com., Alt Dir.Com.):
These are all not shown in output. In string file there is "Alt", but not "visual" and "impaired". But "Alt" is not used anywhere. What is the intention?
3)Audio/(AC3, Mpeg, MPeg2-ext, Lpcm, DTS, SDDS)
These are all reflected corrected according to what changed.

    4)Subpic/language:
When change to blank, output show "unspecified". But it is not reflected "unspecified" in string file, even if edited.
    Others are all reflected correctly.
    5)Subpic/(unspecified, Normal, Large, Children, etc.):
_5-1)When "unspecified", output show nothing. It should show "unspecified"?
_5-2)"Large" and "Children" have 2 lines each instring file. Bottom line is reflected, but 1st line is not reflected so it seems to be no meaning.
_5-3)"Childrens" is used in "Childrens Captions", but in PgcEdit it is shown as "Children Captions". Which is correct?
    Others are all reflected correctly.

6)"unspecified" is used in 3( 2) and 4) and 5-1) ), but "unknow" seems not to be used anywhere. Something should be shown as "unkown"?

7)couldn't find where "Title" is used. I thought in MovieMenu, but it seems not to be reflected even if edited. Where it is used?

    8)Where "BMP" is used? I can't find.

    Regards.

    Thanks for TestBed6_22 and explanation.

I understand now the difference between "Unknown" and "unspecified".
However, "unspecified" is still displayed unfortunately regardless of translation.
