Updated language files and code for subtitle extensions (more translation --Sorry)
MakeMenu will now kick a warning if not enough room to create button links (Setup Menu) to all audio subtitle streams
Tetsuro_ja Oops Me Bad
changed NotSpecified,NotSpecified line in English file to unspecified, unspecified (as in japanese.txt)
The String Unknown is an internal switch in the phrase translate parser --its returned if the translate routine can't find the string on the list. (Hopefully you should never see it.)
Question -- Does Make Menu Translation file editor need a font selector (i'm guessing it does)
Question -- Is KanSuji_Japanese.txt still an individual translation file or just an old ver of japanese.txt (Do I delete it)
PS Tetsuro -- Keep the translated strings as short as you can for subtitle extensions-- Not really much room there
TitleWriter 4.72 - *** Update 31 July 2008, ***

This is a sticky topic.

Thanks, FA.
I tested 6_21_2 in the following condition.
Use the same DVD compilation as described in P.S. of #226.
Use Courier New as Font.
Use English.txt as Menu String Translation File.
Edit English.txt to change " ,Unknown" to " ,ABC".
Edit English.txt to change "NotSpecified,NotSpecified" to "NotSpecified,DEF".
Press "Create Menu And Add It" button.
Unspecified language subtitle button issue at Setup Menu is fixed.
However, the string "unspecified" at audio/subtitle buttons is changed to neither "ABC" nor "DEF". How can I change the string "unspecified"?
Regards

Wait for the next testbed -- I need Tetsuros file -- Have to Make some changes in it (and the english file also) at my end. To match the current code here. I think this will fix the vanishing buttons
Did you two ever decide if chinese numerals will render properly or is the file to contain "english" numerals --
Jinjin_jps screenshots show up here. Or is it Not sensible.Leave a comment:

As to the Mpeg try this
In Japanese file -- Change (In word processor) Mpeg1(left of comma) to MPeg1
The p is capitalized in the code
Tetsuro_ja downloaded me a font --I can see the characters (See yes understand No)
I'm studying the "unknown" bit and I see the why of the lost buttons the fix is trickyLast edited by FallenAngel; 22 Jun 2007, 03:17 AM.Leave a comment:

@jinjin_jp
Thanks for explanation.
@FallenAngel
In addition to jinjin_jp's explanation, buttons of subtitles having unknown and unspecified attributes are lost.
Japanese translation updated anyway. (Removed)
- the untranslated country names were translated
- numbers to 1, 2, 3...Last edited by tetsuro_ja; 24 Jun 2007, 03:15 AM.Leave a comment:

Jinjin_jp -- did you try post 231
It looks to me Like Title should be added to translation string list
(I thought that Japanese txt can't be shown correctly in other countries. Is it my misunderstanding?)
You have to realize I have no idea what I'm looking at (what those symbols mean)
I'm just replacing strings with strings and seeing if it "looks" right at your end.
What I wanted to say was that translated strings are not reflected about number like below.
(But I noticed later that tetsuro_ja says "Numbers "1", "2", "3"... are better than Japanese (Chinese) numerals.", so I deleted the post once.)

Jinjin_jp -- did you try post 231
It looks to me Like Title should be added to translation string list
And the DVD_Text entries Title## should be spread to Title ## (The "Translator" can handle that)
You have to realize I have no idea what I'm looking at (what those symbols mean)
I'm just replacing strings with strings and seeing if it "looks" right at your end.
Tetsuro_ja -- Is that the english word FILE I see on your png of Setup
(And where the hell did that come from --its not on the list anywhere)
Perhaps the Font is rendering it that way (probably not)Leave a comment:

I'll re-post.
(I deleted it because I noticed I misunderstood tetsuro_ja's post about stream as number later.)
************************************************** *******
Japanese (Chinese) numerals mismatch with other strings. Numbers "1", "2", "3"... are better than Japanese (Chinese) numerals.Fixes to this point -- Haven't looked at png -- Not approved yet
I think these would be like below.
Left is actual Chapter-Menu screen shot with using Japanese (Chinese) numerals.
Right is the screen shot which is if correctlly reflected Japanese (Chinese) numerals. (I used Movie-Menu and Thunbnails Text.)

jinjin_jp -- I see you made a reply It seems to have vanished
try hitting edit after you select the japanese translation file and change the numbers to what you think they should be. Make your menu and see if you are happy.Last edited by FallenAngel; 22 Jun 2007, 01:20 AM.Leave a comment:
