I have worked tirelessly to try to get the aspect ratio changed on a DVD that I recorded off of the TV. I have followed the instructions to the letter to accomplish this using IFOEdit.
Here is what I'm left with in my Video_TS folder when I'm done using IFOEdit:
The Video_TS file and backup file.
The VTS_01_0 file and backup file.
If I double click either of these, Nero will play them in widescreen--which is what I want. However, there are five other files: VTS_01_1 through VTS_01_5. If I double click on these, Nero will play the files in full screen.
When the files are burned to a disc, the disc plays in fullscreen mode on my DVD player. I have tried multiple players.
I have the full Nero 9 package at my disposal. Please help.
EDIT: I have discovered that playing the files in a DVD player results in the correct format being displayed. The VTS_01_1 through VTS_01_5 files were .VOB files and I should have mentioned that. The .IFO files have precedent over the .VOB files when played in a DVD player, which is apparently how it should be from reading other forums. I didn't know it until I read this thread: (digital-digest URL removed by digital-digest.com) but I can create the .VOB files to .IFO files and edit them if need be but I haven't done so yet because I think the problem is fixed.
