Tdk 404 Dvdrw

i have a tdk 404 dvdrw and have found that there is a lot of dvd-r disks out there that doesnt get recognised by this drive ,sadly i say i would not recomend anyone to purchase one of these drives until tdk bring out a firmware to rectify this problem.i have updated the firmware to no avail .so be warned
