ok, to start off, im completely new to burning DVDs. im only 16, but im nearly completely computer literate, and anything i dont know, my dad does.
ive recently began to "collect" some shows from newsgroups, but they are starting to take up too much space. i was thinking about originally just putting them on DVDs as pure storage, but then i got to thinking that it would be better if i could use those DVDs to watch the episodes on my comp DVD player or on my Xbox. now, i know my dad has done things like this before, but therein lies the problem or video encoding. my dad had been working with .avi/.asf/etc, but im working with .ogm, which he knows nothing about.
can anybody tell me how or what i would need to do to burn these onto a DVD+R so that they would be playable on a DVD player with a basic menu feature?
also, can anybody recommend any good software to use?
