    ricohjpn 4x dvd+r

Unbranded silvertop burned jan 2004, bad pixelation and play
stutteration last 20-30 minutes of play. No obvious damage
to disk, plays fine on 1 1/2 yr old TOSHIBA player, not on new
Magnavox cheapo Walmart player(which has played all other
    burns,new/old +/- flawlessly). I am sure I used a brandnew
disk to backup, shrink 2.3 and plex 8x burner, probably at 8x.
Dye deterioration? Plan on reripping in locked Nec burner and
    reburning to TY 4x dvd-r. ???????????????????????????
Size was 4200MB, quality score ZERO in my liteon combo,
    high sustained peaks around 3000MB.

    Go Figure

Burned ripped files(from bad disk) with nero and TY dvd-r 4x and
quality score now 98 for 2500-4250 range.
All those hours of physics and math and I haven't a clue!

I have some of those discs and they still play fine and they were burnt October/November 2003. They are Datasafe +R's.

Almost all the problems(playback and pi-errors/failures) were in the last 30 minutes
of the disk, not consistent with a dye problem which should be more uniform?
Now I gotta search thru 400+ disks and see if I can find more of those suckers
          and duplicate.

Unless I had played this disk on a problematic player, I would have never done a quality check with nero tools.
